Engine bogging at launch (NEED HELP)
heres what i got 305 TPI 5 speed with 3.42 rear end.
jus replaced the trans mount
well i went racing and i dumped the clutch and the enigne jus bogged down and the car jumped alot very bad.. could i have broken an engine mount i tourge braked it and the eninge did not move or could the injectors be clogged or dirty jus ran some injector cleaner thru it also.. and we jus tried to fix the timing and it still idles at 1200 and jumps around alot which points to the fuel injectors as i see it i jus need some feedback. if you need to know ne thing else jus let me know

in the order you asked
your rpm wasn't high enough when you launched
wheel hop, which doesn't make sense if your rpm was low
yes, but doesn't sound like it
yes, but not likely
high idle speed doesn't point to bad injector as i see it
might help out if you gave better discription of the problems, trouble shoot a little, say what engine you have. i'd make sure the tune up was good before i went too far looking at anything else.

Did you disconnect the ESC when you set the timing?
Check for a vacuum leak?
Check TPS adjustment?
uh...
Maybe don't dump the clutch, slip it for a sec as not to bog the engine.

reset the IAC. itll take all of 5 mins and youll know thats good..
reset the timing with that littel brown wire un hooked..
reset the TPS setting
if u think its the injectors run some cleaner through them..
youd know if the motor mount was broke..
this first 3 things will take 20 mins total tops!
how many times have u raced this car?
if u hold the rpm at 2,200 and dump the clutch with out givint it more gas the motor will bog down..
dump it, then keep the wheels spining very slightly while giving it more gas..when u get right at the tree hammer it, the r's will jump to 4,800-5 grand and will hang there for about a second so u gotta be ready to hit 2nd. ..and if u get a good 2-3 shift your on your way to a 14.5
ive gotton 1.98 60's doin this

i have an 89 iroc 305Tpi 5spd as well but i had 3.08 gears when i got it, at the track dumpin the clutch at 2k the car would fall on its face and then pick up. now with 3.27s and more power, launching off idle it goes right to 5200 and stays there until the car catches up. in order to get ur car to get a good 60ft ur gonna need to slip the hell out of that clutch at 3-3500 rpms. dumping is either gonna allow the car to bog or the tires to break loose. by slipping the clutch ur usin the clutch to moderate how much torque the wheels get and that regulats the wheel spin. give it a try ull be suprisd.

id rather pull 1.98's by dropping the clutch and knowing how to drive it off the line rather then buring up my clutch thank you
you have to slip it because you have 3.08 gears..with 3.42's it aint nessesary
maybe its just me
here maybe u missed this
