cams in tpi motor
Orange,
Welcome to ThirdGen.org!
A 268 is generally a decent cam for street mild strip use, but that can depend on other factors. What rear gears are in the vehicle? What control system are you using (MAF of S/D)?
That profile may be a little too much for lower ratio gears, and a speed-density system will probably require reprogramming to make the best use of the cam. A MAF system is a little more forgiving, but may need an adjustable FPR for best tuning at WOT.
The cam profile is also going to want more RPM than the TPI system can support in stock form. If you port the plenum, base, and runners, and clean up the heads, you'll get more benefit from it. If not, you may still have that "wall" at 4,800-5,000 RPM that the TPI just naturally encounters, since it cannot deliver more air than that without significant restriction.
