Would an 88 Camaro column fit an 88 Firebird?

a friend was able to get a used steering column from the junk yard for $45 but I afraid there may be a chance it wont fit my bird since it's from a Camaro. I dont think this may make a difference but all i know is that the 1988 Camaro (Iroc?)had a 305(fuel system unknown)5-speed tranny. And my Firebird has a 305 TBI 4-speed automatic Both have the tilt steering option. Thanks.

The fact that it comes from a Camaro shouldn't be a problem. The two other questions you have to ask is do either of the cars have delay wipers or cruise control?

The cruise control part is really easy to swap from one column to another. The delay wiper switch is inside the column, so I'd imagine it would take some work to swap it if you had to.

You can easily swap the steering wheels with a $15 puller from AutoZone.

Thanks Chris. They both have cruise control for sure and as for the delay switch, mine has it. The wiper swtich acts and clicks in the same places as mine i just cant tell where it's clicking since the white lettering has been wiped off the Camaro's turn signal stick.
