I wondered about the starter removel, and the steering colum was a new one. Slp told me just change the mounts on the motor, have no idea how to do that on the garage floor. I have never been able to change the starter without taking off the solonoid anyway

thinking about headers.

Same here - just ordered mine Friday, so any day now. Only thing is, I'm not putting them in any time soon, but it's nice to find out and see what everyone else is having to do for the install. As for starters, I'm with you on that one. My original came out OK, but the replacement would not go in without removing the solenoid. Man, was I ever pissed! Must've just been having a bad day, I guess. What pissed me off even more was to do all that and it wasn't the problem after all.

Did you get the 1 3/4" headers? So I am guessing that your header rubs against the steering arm? Mide does too. It sucks. Slp also told me to change the motor mounts and it will be ok. But I am skeptical. I didnt realize how much of a pain it is to change the mounts with the engine in the car and the front suspension in too. So now I have to take the springs out. yeah yeah I could do it with the springs in but it will be a lot easier to do it without them in. Let me know how it works out for you.

I posted the other question... The motor mounts are inpossible I thought about removing the center bolt from the motor mount, jacking up the motor enough to slide the header in. I'm going to try the pass side tonight (starter removal) but the pass side is aready pretty close to going in. Let me know how you guys make out.

Hey Guys,
I just did my SLP header install a few weeks ago.(1 3/4") You are right about the motor mounts, but I didn't pull the starter. Those motor mounts are no a easy thing to do. Can you say patience?

For the motor mounts i took it to a mechanic, to much of a PITA. I had them install energy suspension polyurethane bushings.

For the driver side i had to remove the stearing column to get the headers in, but they do not rub. And on the passenger side you do not need to removed the starter but you will have to bend a metal pipe (coolant line), so it doesn't rub.
