Oil Pressure Sending Unit

Hi, I was wondering whats wrong with my oil pressure gauge because when I turn my key to the "ON" position, it moves to the "0" mark. And it stays there when im driving. When I turn the car off it moves down to its original position. So the needle is moving, but staying at the "0" mark. I located my sending unit and unplugged it and when I turned my key to the on position, the needle jumped all the way up. So is my sending unit gone? If so, is it hard to install a new one becasause it's sorta hard to get to.

It is most likely your sending unit. I would definitely not drive my car with no oil pressure unless I knew for sure that was the problem. It's not that hard to do. Ive done it. Once you get under the car it's simple.

He's right. It's as simple as unscrewing the old one, and screwing in a new one. I put a little teflon tape on mine to keep it sealed.
