Is this a good engine?

Is this (1969-85 GM Vehicles 350 Engine) a good engine for a 1992 camaro? I know there made for the 1969-85 car(apparently). but could it go in a 92? Its a cheap crate and I dont have that much money. So how much trouble would it be to make it work? Thanks

Im probabily not the best person to answer this, but since your the only person ive ever seen that lives in the same state as mr from third gen.org, im gonna try .

It probabily wont work w/ the TPI set up becaus the bolting is fifferent from that of a carbed motor, i know this becaus i wanted a ZZ4 crate motor and found it worked better on Carbed equiped cars like the earlier model camaros.

I dont know what kinda deal you aregetting, but i found a new 350 block for my car i can order from NAPA fot $1400, it prodiuces like 305hp if i remember correctly. My friend put one in his Iroc and its a pretty nasty little block to have, whenever my engine goes bad thats the one im getting.

The engine will not fit in your car b/c of thw way it is made. The engine mad for 85-earlier car has a four bolt main and after 85 they are two bolt mains.

Matt, you say that 86 and earlier blocks are four bolt mains and 87-up are two bolt mains. I don't know if that is entirely correct, but I don't see where it would matter since the mains are inside the oil pan and aren't exposed at all. I think the motor should fit just fine because the motor mounts should bolt up to it but the heads may not work with your intake setup if you are going to try to put a TPI unit on it. If you are going to keep a carb on it, you can find an intake for it from edelbrock or something that will work just fine.
