Car manuals, Haynes are disapointing.

I have the Haynes manual for the 82-92 Pontiac Firebird. This
is for the most part pretty useless. Are there any Manuals or repair guides that are more in depth and where can I get them ??

I need to get me one of those soon, the Haynes doesn't tell me anything more than what I know already.

Check out a Helms manual. They print the GM factory service manuals.

In a pinch if the budget is tight get a Chilton manual. They are alot better for this particular series of cars. Between my Haynes manual and my Chilton I've been able to take care of most problems.

Another alternative is www.alldatadiy.com

It's like $20 a year for one car, and like $15 for each additional, and renewals. Alldata has pretty much the same info as the factory service manual. We have the full Alldata package at the shop where I work, and it's about 95% of what we need. Rarely do we have to go elsewhere for info.

The best thing to get though, in my opinion, is the factory service manual. It may cost more now, but you will always have it, and it covers the entire car, and does it really well. You will actually save money in the fewer headaches that you get from poor manuals.
