new problem
It seems like everytime I fix one problem, there is a new one! I just got my fuel pump problem figured out, now I still can't drive the car because it will not shift out of first. I already posted this on the transmission board, but there is nowhere near the traffic on that forum as this one. I already adjusted the TV cable (many times) and I just pulled the governor to check the gear on the end and to make sure the valve was not sticking. Gear looks like new and valve moves freely, about a quart of tranny fluid came out when I took the governor cover off , is this normal? I read a few posts about removing the cover to check the governor and no one mentioned that fluid would come out, I figured it would but not that much. I recently installed a Corvette servo while I was doing the other engine mods and when I added fluid to make up for what I lost I may have added too much. Could this cause too much pressure in the trans and not allow it to shift? BTW , reverse and first work fine. Since doing the mods, the one day I did get to drive the car, before the fuel pump went, it did shift through all the gears but it seemed to stay in each gear too long, now it WILL NOT shift out of first. The tranny shifted fine before the mods. What really makes all this crap worse, is that this was one of the most reliable, trouble free cars I have owned, until I decided to start messing with it, I wish I had left it bone stock! 1990 5.7 700r4

No, it won't even shift manually. The one day I drove it to work I had to put it in second manualy and then it would shift into third and fourth on it's own.
