Starting problems???
Starting problems???
please take the time to read as i cannot seem to find anyone who might have a clue as to what is going on. thank you.
i cannot start my car. the starter makes a very fast and high pitched clicking noise and will not turn the motor over.
i thought it might be the battery so i had it tested, that turned out fine so i checked the alternator and the starter as well. i have had my battery, alternator, and starter checked twice by three separate places and all tests have shown that the parts are working when outside of the car.
four days ago i was able to start the car after i had hooked up my truck to the camaro battery for 10 min just as a last ditch effort to start her(basically jumping the battery). it worked but i couldn't drive the car very far without alot of hesitation and small backfire. i also had to keep the cars rpms above 2,500 in order to keep running.
today i tried the same routine and it would turn over the engine slightly but wouldn't start the car?
the alternator and starter are reman but they are new. i have put 450 miles on them before this problem. all the electrical is in good working order with no blown fuses.
is there something like a starter relay on our cars that could cause this sort of problem? anyone ever have a problem like this?

checked them all visually. the complete setup under the hood is new and the actual battery and it's wires check out good and have been working fine before the engine swap.
car has worked good for it's first 430 miles...just the last two weeks it started acting up and now it won't start.

that is a very good point as well as very probable.....however it ran "decent" for the first 400+ miles. i was waiting until 500 miles to do a dyno tune and set everything properly.
could it really adjust itself to the point where it wouldn't work properly anymore?

if you dont tighten the dist down enough, yes.
ive had them move 20+ degrees on me by being lazy and not torqueing (sp?) them down after timing.
