Good day,
Im new to this board, and I wish that I could have found this website long ago. My name i Paul, nad I have a 1992 firebird TA formula with a 305 TBI. The car runs great!

The other day it just would not start. It has plenty of spark and fuel. but the injectors are not energizing.Im getting a fauld code of 53 when I jumper the 12 pin connector. I lloked up the code and it said V.A.T.S problem.

I assume that the security system or "passkey system" is messed up.
I have downloaded instructions on how to bypass the system with a resistor.

Could that be the problem???
Should I check for something else???
What should I keep in mind when bypassing?

Try cleaning your key. I had this issue but my Camaro would not turn over. I cleaned the 'chip' in the kay and then waited, started just fine.

I looked this up in the manual and the manual says that is the chip gets dirty then it can cause this.
