swapping in 5 speed pedals..

im in the process of putting my 5 speed pedals in and im wondering what i should use to make the hole in the firewall.. im curious to hear how others have done it.. im debating on if i should just drill 2 large holes and file them to make the oval hole or if i should use a sawsall and try to see how neat i can be.. any suggestions?

I drilled like 7 small holes then used the chuck to smooth it out. It was a big pain in the ***.

Just did this awhile back......

Get a 1 1/2" holesaw attachment for your drill.

Take out the booster and the auto pedals.

The 5 speed pedals should have (2) braces bolts to them, once you have pedals mounted loosely, look under the carpet for this

Rip the piece out in the middle like I did, this is where the master cylinder goes thru.

No see where the braces are with the pedals in? Drill the two holes using the holes in the braces as a guide. This is where the U-bolt goes that holds the clutch master cylinder in.

Now with that done, simply use the holesaw to cut the hole where the master cylinder will go.

Good enough?

You WILL NOT regret the swap

There are the (2) metal braces that are bolted to the 5 speed pedals. The black thing is a hose for the cruise control, it was just in the way during the picture.

It goes to a little bracket that hangs off to the driver's side of the brake MC, it fastens under the nuts that hold the MC to the booster.
