What are some tricks to get rid of a part throttle low RPM bog?
My TBI keeps bogging at part throttle but usually won't at near WOT. Also my car accelerates harder at 3/4 throttle than full WOT. Could it be detonating at WOT and this be why it isn't quite as fast. Thanks for any replys.

Well, I had similar problems w/ my 86 IROC's 305 TPI and it turned out to be the TPS out of adjustment. Had a bog, ran out of breath at WOT (guess it was going lean?, beats me), and the disengagement of the TC under light throttle was also a little rough. Adjusted it and the problems went away, actually made a rather large difference for something so simple. I am assuming a TBI car also has a TPS, if not ignore me.

It does and I thought I put it in spec. It should be at .45 volts at idle and over 4volts at WOT right? I think I may adjust it up a little. Right now it gets almost 5volts at WOT and it a little under .45 volts at idle. I think. Does anyone know the exact specs and/or reccommend a setting I should try in my setup? Thanks Ray

For a TPI car it should be around .55 volts closed throttle and over 4 at WOT. Sounds like your base setting is a little low. Hopefully that is the prob. Again I'm assuming the TBI setting is the same on the TPS as it is for TPI.
There is a article in the Tech Article Section here that lists instructions on setting the TPS, (lists base specs as .54 + or - .075). I double checked it but it doesn't specify if its standard between TPI and TBI or not. Perhaps a TBI guru will pop up w/ the goods here...
