oil pressure

Hey guys I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some advice, I recently changed the oil in my 1992 z28 305, I ran some of the engine detergent in it before I switched out the oil and filter. Then I put in 15 w-50 high performance mobile 1 synthetic, and a premium fram oil filter, I thought that that would be good....but it seems that after that my oil pressure has skyrocketed. After the oil change the oil pressure is all the way up! I checked the oil and its perfectly on the line. What Should I do? What do you guys think is the problem? My buddy told me it might be my pcv valve. What do you guys think? Thanks alot for you time, and advice

Were you using that weight oil before because switching to a heavier oil will noticeably increase your pressure. What is your pressure at I run 10W-30 and when it is cold it is pegged out past 60 and it runs ok.

I have no idea what was run in it before, I have recently purchased the car and this is the first time ive changed it. Also since it is being garaged for now, I havent had it all the way warmed up, it hasnt run for more then 5 minutes at idle, and I have only driven it about an eighth or tenth of a mile at a time. I havent really fired it up much because I am afraid it will hurt the engine to have the oil pressure that high.

I used Castrol 10W60 synthetic,oilpresure was always near 60!
Castrol changed the weight to 0W40,pressure is a little lower than before but still high!
Don't worry, with 15W50 higher readings are normal, when it's to high,a presure relief valve will open!!
Be carefull when the oil is cold, say the first 5-10 mls, stay low in RPM's,after the oil is properly warmed up,I'm sure you will notice somewhat lower oilpressure!
Good luck!

I use Mobil 1 15W-50 in the summer and 0W-40 in the winter. oil pressure always where it should be. only reason why I use 0W40 is cause I have the car outside and the 0W really keeps the starting well.
