Time for an upgrade
Well now that my car is almost ready to be back on the road its time for some upgrades. Here is what i have now. 350 carbed, today i just took out the AC and Smog Pump, right now i have a quadrajet carb on it but it kinda runs like crap. Here is what i was thinking for upgrades. Cam, headers, intake manifold, or carb. Which of these would be the most important and cost efficient to do first? Or is there any other upgrades that would be better? I just got challenged by a rustang with cold air intake and exhaust and he wants to race for the titles of the cars so i think its time to beat some ***!
First thing I would do is start letting the car breathe easier (high flow intake, high flow cat, headers and exhaust. Then start working on internal engine components like a bigger cam. Depending on how far you plan on racing maybe think about changing your rear end and beating that for p.o.s. in the 1/4 mile. And remember, it's our duty to ensure all ford owners know excatly what the back of our cars look like.

two of the most horsepower gaining part of our car to replace is the exhaust manifolds and the cam. but you need other things to help these out. i would go with headers, cam, exhaust, high flow cat and a K&N air filter. but racing for slips is a big deal so make sure you dont lose, i pretty sure it wont be a problem. my brother has a jeep cheerokee 4.0(stock) and he beat a mustang 4.0 with headers and a exhaust.
