head casting #'s
head casting #'s
ok so , i pulled these heads off of a supposed 86 350, not sure what the 350 came out of, all i know is , its 86 and earlier heads. casting #s are 14014416 ..anyone have any clue what heads these are?? trying to figure out if its worth putting them on my l03
EDIT
ok so , searched a lil, found out its a 305
14014416...80-86...305..........1.84"/1.5" valves, 58cc chambers
what are the specs on the l03 heads??? this worth the effort in swapping the heads??

Those are the LG4/L69/early LB9 heads. Far better than L03 trash as far as flow; but they have the early model intake bolt pattern, and perimeter-bolt valve covers, which differ from L03 stuff.
If you want a very similar casting, try to find some '187s. They'll be prepped for SA rockers, center bolt covers, and accept the manifold bolts without alteration. Then, send the '416s to me, so I can put them to good use.
well i have a performer manifold, 86 and earlier head model.....i bored th bolt holes out to fit on the 87 and the manifold has been on for a month, so itll obviously fit on the 86 still........so its worth the effort????? the heads were SUPPOSEDLY 350 heads...the engine was supposed to be a 350, im pissed i got jewed on a 350 4 years ago......maybe it has 305 heads and a 350 block?? oh well , no point in being mad now....all i wanna know is ,will it be any better than the L03 heads? how much better?? sorry guys, i dont know much about heads ...just what yall teach me heheh. in any event these are off of a reman engine that had 16k on it.....so for one, these were basicly free, and secondly, they are in far better condition than a lb9 with like 80k on em.....

If you can use perimiter style heads,
port the hell out of em, shave the deck to an appropriate combustion chamber size, enlarge the valves and run with it
Oh, and toss in a decent used LT1 cam while you are at it
That combo is a favorite for the junkyard budget 305 buildup.
