Transmission Shift Cable Problem

The problem a friend has (92 camaro) is that the bushing that connects the shifter arm to the transmission shift cable has worn out, thus, leaving my friend stuck in second gear. Does he have to buy a whole new transmission shift cable or can he find a replacement bushing somehow?

I think he probably needs a whole new cable, but could be wrong. I believe that the are only ~$15.

i have to buy a shifter cable formy car. can only get it from GM, and it would cost $53 bucks. But i have a friend who gets a discount from the dealer so i can get it for $33.

I got one for my 85 trans am at my local autozone. I think that it was haning out in the isles instead of being someting that they got from behind the counter though.
