Car wont start!!no power white smoke!!Help!!
Last night while trying to start the camaro (which has been running perfectly for half a year even with 128000 miles and extensive track use ) the maro didnt want to start. I turned the key to the on position and hit my remote starter button which goes directly to the battery to the starter but as soon as I hit the button and it started to crank the lights on the dash got dim, stereo turned off and the door locks stopped working, as soon as I stopped cranking some white smoke came from the back area of the passenger side.
Now I get no power at all except for the headlights, dome light, and the trunk. The door locks dont work even with the key out of the ignition, stereo doesnt work, windows dont work, fuel pump doesnt work, and the lights on the dash dont even come on. THe noise you get when you put the key to the on position doesnt work either. Checked the firewall fuses, fuses to the alarm, and the fusebox and all worked fine. Did not check all fuses though.
I have a 92 RS TBI with a remote starter and any other info you need or info your willing to help me with is greatly appreciated. I want to get her running before the big track opening this Friday.
Thanks again third genners!!

IT doesn't work any more because you let the smoke out! Geez, what are they teaching people nowadays... NEVER let the smoke out! And don't even bother trying to put smoke back in. They only work with OEM smoke! Even if you had captured the original smoke, it wouldn't work, because it's contaminated by air.
Sounds like you blew a fusible link down by the starter. Time to crack out the DMM and start digging around
