cam recomendations

I was just browsing threw the summit catalog and was looking for cam suggestions for a tpi'd 305.

Future Mods:
World Products S/R Torquer Heads
SLP Headers
SLP Intake Runners
TPIS Big Mouth Manifold

I was thinking maybe somewhere in the neighborhood of 204 / 214 @ 1/2 duration. and around .454 lift??

Personally I believe your heading in the right direction.. From expierence (seeing I just installed a summit brand hydraulic cam in my 85 iroc) and i'm totally impressed with it. I have 1.94 shaved heads, headers, and a flowmaster exhaust and i went from the stock vette cam (thats what the 350 cam out of) and I actually went to a smaller cam. Improved sound, and by far improved performace. a 2nd gear chirp if you barely get on it. Bigger cam doesn't mean more performace, there IS such thing as over camming an engine. Look at the RPM torque ram in the diagram n match it up with what you would want but don't go to big, least tahts what i'll advise you on my behalf/past. Also keep in mind your rear end gears =]

That is the cam I am running in my car now (350). It has a very nice idle and tons of torque (over 400 ft/lbs). A very streetable cam and I get 22+ MPG in mixed city/highway driving (I'm a lead foot).
