VADER, fp problem updates
well i came home from albany for a weekend. pledging started and i couldnt miss it. anyway we took apart the top of the engine again. i notice that 2 injectors are right up against the edelbrock runners, rubbing against them so hard that they are wearing!! its the #7 and #2 injectors.. something aint right with the cast of the runners and intake. i need to have washers on 2 of the bolts on the top passenger side runner. this shouldnt be. im starting to think that the casts are bad and this is causing the injectors to ground and not be in the intake properly. i emailed edelbrock and their response was to send them everyhting!! not the answer i wanted. what do you guys think? what happened to dsouthern ??

Ron,
Before I yanked the whole mess and shipped it off to the "experts" at Edelbrock, I'd try the shim/washer route to see if the problem can be eliminated. If that does it, you can stop worrying about your fuel system and start raising hell at Edelbrock over their obvious lack of ability to hold dimensional tolerances on their products. Even if the problem persists, you might have a case for a free set of replacement injectors, since yours may have been damaged by their oversight. I wouldn't get injectors with the name "Edelbrock" stamped on them, however.
If you have a camera available, you can send a photo to them "ATTN: BEAVIS" so they can single out the correct final inspector for refresher training. Show how the injectors are bottomed in the bores, so they can see where they forgot to machine for depth.
Hey! Were these the same guys involved in the Mars Lander project? Miles? Kilometers? Oh, who cares? Ship it!
