OPti Problem Solved

This is the orignal thread..https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ight=optispark
(It wouldnt let me post there)

Ok, Here is an update....The first Opti I bought off E-Bay was Junk.. The second opti I bought from advanced...I Cracked the cap putting it together...and the remanufactured distributer was faulty..Soooo, $1150 later..with all new GM parts, New waterpump, New oil, Mobile 1 Synthetic. All professionally installed, the LT1 is on the road again.. What a PITA this has been. I think I will leave this car to the pro's. And stick with wrenching on my 89......

I tell you what; I think you gambled with only a pair of eights with the ebay stuff.
I'm surprised the reman also turned out bad. That's just plain bad luck!!! (Believe me, I've had my share)

I'm going to write a letter to MSD, about adding-designing-upgrading the optispart to there product line. I honestly think it would sale. Now be honest, would you have bought a new MSD opti when this all started? I would in a hart beat! Hell I would buy one tomorrow, to replace my reman...Maybe they will take a break on this sport compact HYPE or FAD, and build something usefull for a real engine.

Oh well, It's good you've got it all sorted out...ohhhh - and hell yea on replacing the water pump. With the way things were going, that sucker would have died a week after the opti install. Again, this is all opti-science.

We have 3 Casino's here in town, wich I never go to ...I suck when it comes to gambling! I lose every time..
There are some good people on E-Bay. The dishonest ones ought to be hung from a tree..
anyway, Ive found opti-science is not one of my best subjects..
But the car sure is fun to drive!

There's a few more people I would like to hang!!! Like the engineers who designed the distributor right below the water pump At least they kept the plug wires on the correct side, but I still can't change them on my Vette without removing the power steering pump among other thing...

Don't worry, you passed !!!
