Non 3rd-gen - 92 Thunderbird
My g/f's 92 v-6 3.8l thunderbird is acting up again. Very weird problem. The car stalls but only at a certain temperature. When you first turn it on and drive it, its fine, and when its fully warmed up its fine. In between those two, that's when the car will stall whenever you come to a stop and as soon as you give it gas. I was thinking it needs a tuneup so i gave it new plugs, wires, coil. Still the same problem. I've changed the fuel filter about 2 months ago. I've also changed the headgaskets about a year ago (those engine blow them all the time). When i took out the plugs, the tips of them looked very white (lean condition?) and the tip of the porcelain part had a burned brown spot on every plug. I've also tried fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank. Other then the stalling part, the car runs great. I'm thinking its some sort of a sensor that needs to be changed. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
p.s. - it gets really bad sometimes-it will stall at an intersection and wont turn back on until about 5 minutes later. So from now on, i let it warm up for 10 mins before going anywhere.

Geeze if you look at those cars funny the head gaskets will blow.
Did you try to scan it? Those cheap code readers $25 that should be standard fNord owner equiptment are very usefull Wal Mart sells then too.
Most likely the IAC is sticking very common and has been known to cause probelms like you describe. TPS can act up and cause it too. Id pull the IAC motor off and blast it with carb cleaner and go from there, sould be cleaned once in a while reguardless. Those Code readers are helpfull in these situations because it it happens a couple time it will store the code even if the check engine light is not on.
