engine loses power??????
okay guys, i'm new and i'm having a slight problem. i got my 82z last week and it was running fine and dandy till yesterday. I have a problem with losing power. When i accelerate hard, even a little hard it just kind of loses power and stutters a little bit. The weird thing is that it only does it in second and third. first is fine, and i haven't had it up fast enough in fourth to find out. The car has the stock lg4. I think has something to do with ignition. Distributor? cap? rotor? plugs? wires? if anyone knows what this is or has any ideas please let me know.
Thanks

Check your catalytic converter, fuel filter, a fuel pressure. Mine had this probem with losing power changed the cat and it helped big time. If it is your cat also check and change o2 sensor and pcv valve. Anything that could cause you to run lean and burn up a cat. Also check for loose or burned plug wires you could be losing juice through something like that. Coil might be the next step. Odd that its only happening out of first, is tranny slipping are revs building and your just not moving or is it just puttering out like lack of fuel spark or oxygen?

it doesn't keep reving and lose power, it just sputters, or it used to, i replaced the cap rotor and plugs now it runs fine.
