i am gettin about 1000 dollars in october to do something with my car. I want to make it faster of just replace the engine with a 350. But..i was wondering if i got heads, intake and cam for the 305 would it be worth it. i kinda dont want my car down for that long a time to put a new engine in. Plus i heard sometimes it doesnt go as good. Thanks for ur opinions.

Is LG4 the carbed version?I can't remember.
If it is then I'd get the Comp Cams kit that has everything inthe heads except rockers,and valves.(timing chain, springs, cam,valve locks,seals,etc...)$300
have your heads poted or do some porting yourself have a valve job done and a3 angle job done if you can't afford new valves,
and either check out the tech section about tuning your Q-jet or (don't flame me) get a holley 650 electric choke vacumm secondaries.
I'd say around 250-275 horespower if your luky. Be sure and tell those stang boys that it's only a 305.
Is your car a 5-spd, I had a carbed 86IROC with a 5-spd , loved it wish I'd never sold it.
Don't forget the headers!

i'd improve the 305 first. replacing the engine is alot more work than just modifying the one you have.
