Ok this saturday my car started to die like it wasnt getting gas.After towing it home the next day i tried to start it nothing i checked for a spark and nothin.So i replaced cap rotor and coil i noticed the coil was burnt up.It started idled fine but when you put it in gear and try to drive it cuts out and dies when you give it gas.So i replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and cleaned the carb with carb cleaner walla it drove fine whent to wot and drove fine 30 min later it cut out and wouldnt drive same exact thing as saturday.Now it starts idles fine but when in gear and trying to take off it sputters and dies.I just replaced the plugs too.I have a 86 z28 4barrel rochester. Please help.

either your carb is dying or your timing is off. does it idle smooth when it DOES idle? is it lopey?? any smoke? i know abou tnothing on the carb you have but im willing to bet it stiming/vaccume line related, ...check all the lines, timing, simple stuff first.

 

What he said, check your timing...my coil went twice in a row just like that, you might have turned the distributer while replacing the coil. Check your timing and make sure the bolt is tight!

Also how many miles you have on that carb? might wanna check the tune on that....maybe replace the O2 sensor just in case?!?! My TA cuts out like you describe when its cold, but never totally shuts off...and once its warm it runs fine. Good luck man
