Engine: built 305
Transmission: 700r-4 shift kit
engine pull need help!

ok im pulling my engine and im just about ready to do it. but i cant figure out how to get to the transmission mounts on the back of the engine, any suggestions.

there is no trans mount on the back of the engine, do you mean the trans to engine bolts? if so 3' extension, flex socket and impact makes it easy

also it might help to place a jack under the trans pan, remove the crossmember and lower the jack a little to angle it to make it easier to get to the bolts

You might want to pull the distributor out first, before dropping or unbolting trans. Or if you swing out the engine and trans together as 1 unit.

My personal pref is to yank both at the same time. Less of a hassle in the long run.
