Why the heck are belt drives so expensive??

Belt drives are about $650 compared to a Gear drive of around $150 and a timing chain of even less...

The belt drives have plenty of advantages, but what exactly warrants the $500 increase??

Thanks.

The fact that they're not massproduced like good ol' timing chains and not a whole lot of people buy em.
