where did my oil pressure go??!!

ok car has been sitting about two months with the plenum, runners, and injectors off. i finalyl got everything put back together today. it started and ran rough (like i expected) and then finally stayed running.. it was running like crap (RPMS jumping from 500 to 1500) so i reved it up a little and i heard this whirling type noise coming from the engine. it was pretty loud so i went and checked the oil pressure (just our of curiosty) and it was at about 30 PSI, usualy is past 60 when its jsut started.. i shut it off. waited 5 min, checked the oil and it seemed to be like 3 inches higher than it should be.. i cant' tell if it was just cause oil was on the walls of the dipstick tube or what but it seemed really odd.. well to make a long story short. half an hour later im driving around, 15 psi idle. 30 psi on the highway at higher RPMS. im hoping its just an oil pressure sendign unit. but could something of happend internally during that two months of sitting that could cause this?

If there is something wrong, don't overlook simple things like the sending unit.

It sounds like you've got gas in your oil! Check it over running it this way will ruin your engine.

those oil pressure readings sound perfectly normal.. but if in fact your oil level is high smell it to see if it smells like gas.. make sure it doesnt look milky or you might have some coolant in there.. as far as the jumpy idle and the whistling i'd say you have a pretty decent vaccum leak.. listen for it.. if ya cant find it search for it with a can of starting fluid or carb cleaner or somethin..
