Problem with my 92 camaro

My car is acting really funny, I will go to accelerate and it will start to shift up and down a gear repeatedly. After a little bit it stops. It was doing this a while ago until the speedometer sensors went out and now I thought I had it fixed but it's started again. Any ideas?

Well it's weird and I don't really know how to explain it. If I'm just driving it usually will happen around a certain rpm (generally the ones the car travels at the most) But it will just start revving up and then suddenly drop down to lugging (when it's the most extreme) and just keep bouncing between the two of them. There's no middle just bouncing between revved really high and lugging. When I am stopped and beginning to accelerate it makes the car lurch a little because of it (like I said it's not really bad YET but it started out small the first time also). I've taken it to a few mechanics but no one around here knows ANYTHING about cars I guess.

umm... it's a 92 six cylinder automatic...

Well that explains it! Have you done the basics and checked to see if you have consistent fuel pressure, good spark, any error codes show up on the diagnostic (you said you took it to a shop)?

sorta sounds like a tcc lockup problem.. try posting in the trans board you might get some more replys..
