What are the widest tires i can put on my stock rims?

What are the widest tires i can put on my stock rims?
for better traction ,, i wanna know what tirez will fit on my GTA rims and in the rear wheel wells. i want the same height and everything else,, just thicker..

Axle/Gears: 12-Bolt 3.73
Stock tires on 16x8 rims are 245/50-16. I have 255/50-16's on my rear rims, and I'm told thats about what the max you should put on an 8" rim. Some people have had luck with 265/50-16's, however. Keep in mind that having wider tires will also make the tires slightly taller, due to their design.
