AC Rapidfire#2=platinum?

I bought a set of Rapidfire#2 plugs today and was looking at the carton and noticed it said they had platinum electrodes. I thought I read on here somewhere not to use platinum plugs in our rides. BTW it's for a 92 z28 5.7TPI.

Well, I seem to be in the vast minority, but I actually recommend a platinum plug. But only one - Bosch REGULAR platinum. The other stuff is just junk compared to these. These things havew lasted for some incredible mileage on cars, we're talkin' 100,000 miiles. They are used in racing (IIRC Bobby Rahal (sic?) has used these for years) etc.,etc. , HOWEVER, my caveat is this... if you use and form of CD ignition, DO NOT use these plugs. In fact my recommendation is to just use the regular reliable AC Delco plugs. Really.

NO platinum plugs if you are using nitrous oxide either!!! No kidding, you will have lots of troubles :nono:

However, I agree that the REGULAR single prong Bosch platinums are as fine and long lasting a plug as you can find

PS The Bosch single prong platinums are shorter than your average AC Delco plug and will help a lot if you have header clearance problems.

Althought I'm not positive, but I think Rapidfires were put into LT1s and L99s from the factory and are rated good to 100,000 miles. The rapidfires you bought will work good and should last longer than standard delcos.
