Headers, exhaust and etc should be the same. It depends on what distributor you have, but it should work. The priciples of a 383 and a 305, externally look the same and use the same stuff(other than balancer and flywheel)So most brackets and stuff should also work.

Good luck!

Depending upon whom you ask, properly sized primary tube headers for a 305 are 1-1/2" - 1-5/8". For a 383, 1-5/8" are torque headers, 1-3/4" are power headers, 2" for serious engines. Therefore, I wouldn't say 305 headers would work on a 383, even though they might bolt on either one.

just curious, can you really feel the difference between a 383 and a 350? what about fuel consumption? what are the overall benefits/improvements?

I have done alot of 350's, and this is my first 383. I can tell ALOT of pull difference. You will not really rell that much difference in gas mileage, but if you were really after mileage, you wouldn't ask this anyways, right.
But a good torque 383 is better around town and at the track compared to a 350. The next problem you'll have is getting it planted...
