I have a problem !!! please help me

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my track car (see sig), here is what it's doing. I have a serious "flat spot" off the line, I bring the rev's up to about 2500 and hold for the lights, when I release the brake and hit the gas it hesisates and spits once or twice then takes off. I have tried not comming up onto the converter and starting from idle and didn't change anything.

here is what I have done so far:

checked timming --- 8*btdc at idle
replaced:
dist.
wires
plugs
rotor
cap
module
new accell super hei coil

as for the carb:

new 50cc accelerator pump
.072 main jets
"brown" secondary spring
"brown" accelerator pump cam

I also installed the "light" springs on the centrifical weights in the dist. is it possible that I'm getting too much advance too soon and that's my problem or is the Holley 750 too much carb for a otherwise stock LT-1 motor. also I tried running on 110 octane and 93 and saw no difference in performance.

any help would be appreciated, this problem is killing my 60' times. it's currently 1.99 to 2.04 and I think I could knock a bit off of that if the hesisation was gone.

here is a little info that may be helpful...http://www.mortec.com/carbtip1.htm

Im just learning the holley carb, If it were an edelbrock I would say the problem is in the metering Rods...But it sounds like a tuning problem to me.(carb) Maybe try the carb board. Hope this helps some.

Sounds like it could be a combination of the two especially if the Holly is the double pumper. You could be drowning your engine.

well, the Holley is a vacuum secondary carb. I don't know what else to try short of getting a 650 dp, I will put the stock springs back in the dist and try it, can't hurt right.

If it is a vac secondary you should be ok, may need to jet it a little smaller. Do one change at a time and see what the effects are. Also, make sure your floats are hung properly and not hanging up.
