problem with sensors

i have a 1988 trans am. i recently dropped in a 350 carb(originally a 305 tbi) but dont know which sensors i still need. i need the oil pressure sender. water temp sender, but what else. what if i want the fans to come on automatically still? im leaving the computer in there cause i dont feel like dealing with it. what are the locations of the sensors i need?

water temp sender - on intake manifold by the thermostat?
oil pressure sender - ???
what is the sensor that is by the oil filter?

thanks for any help.

CR,

If you're still using the EST distributor and system, you'll need to have several of the senors operating. If you had a MAF TPI, you may have som edifficulty getting the whole system to work properly without the sensor. If you're using a TH700-R4, you'll still need the VSS. If you're still using an electric cooling fan, you'll need the CTS. Is the car air conditioned, too?

no, i have an hei distributor with and internal coil and vacuum advance. i have a 700r4. i got rid of the ac and smog pump. are the only sensors im going to need the oil pressure sending unit (above oil filter), fan switch (between 6and 8) , and the water temperature gauge(on the intake manifold)? also, how do i go about wiring up the distributor(are the wires the same)? pretty sure this is all thats holding me back from driving my car again

thanks for helping
