Cam recommendation
Cam recommendation
As the budget now allows for another mod to the car, I was thinking of getting a cam.
The car I have is an 86 Z28 LG4 with just over 100,000 miles.
I've got an Edelbrock Performer intake, open-element air cleaner, flowtech headers, full 2.5" exhaust, and stock 2.73 rear.
What would you recommend in terms of a cam? I want something that will idle decently, but have some good pull, and be able to pass emissions.
Any suggestions?
Also, how many hours of labour would a good shop be charging me?
Thanks!

Do it yourself..alot cheaper and you learn a little more about you ride.Do a search..alot of info on swapping cams..not hard at all. Most shops will usually charge for about 4-5 hours labor around me at $55 an hour.

The XE256 or XE262 would be a good choice.
Best mod for you now would be some 3.42 gears.
