Min. Air position & IAC, ALDL, A, B sockets??

Kay, going to clean the throttle body with tpi/intake cleaner or carb cleaner if I can't find the other stuff. After this, reading the article response to a prev. post, I'm going to readjust the idle screw cuz' the mechanic messed it up a bit trying to fix the idle problem. Question is: What exactly am I supposed to do with the u-shaped paperclip? It says to insert the clip into the ALDL in the a and b slots... could someone explain what the ALDL is and wich slots to use? I'm guessing this is some kinda' make-shift jumper to force the iac pintle to extend?
Thanks, Brian.

The ALDL connector is underneath your dash, to the right of your fuse box. It's rectangular shaped, maybe 1&1/2 inches wide and 1/2 inch tall. It's got 12 little electric connectors, two rows with 6 in each. You want to put the paperclip into the connector, one end in the top right corner spot (slot a) , and the other in the spot directly to the left of slot a (that's slot b). Then turn the key to accessory and you'll know if you've got it right if your service engine light is flashing.

Tom,

Maeda T. has a nice site, and is probably a real rarity on the islands with a ThirdGen. That being said, and no disrespect intended, I had to LMAO when I read this line in the instructions:

" Set the parking blake and..."

His data is technically correct, and he has a lot better grasp of english than I do japanese, but it still made me chuckle.
