Engine starts... a little TOO fast...

Wierd. Got out to my car this morning and the motor started almost the instant I turned the key. Granted this is not an undesirable affect, but is it the sympton of an abnormal condition of any sort?

LOL

Yea well I thought maybe something abnormal, yet not neccesarily harmful may have been happening.

with my older carbed motors, it started REALLY quick.

just get in,
turn ign on,
pump gas to floor one time. on my carb that would spray some fuel in, and it would set the elec choke.
flick the key for less then a sec, because it fired right up....

the only reason most FI carbs take a sec to start is that the computer has to know the engine is spinning before it starts spraying fuel.

I'll have to consult the journals on that one!! LOL.

Seriously though 92RSSlowmaro, I haven't heard of any "problem" causing this. Perhaps some of the moderators might know.

BTW When I installed a mini gear reduction starter motor in mine I noticed it starter far quicker. Also, no heat soak issues and goodbye header clearance issues.

Sounds like a good problem to have. I wouldn't worry about it until it didn't start at all.
