350?
I have a 350 from a 94 blazer. I know that is not a vortec motor but was curious if any body might know a little about the engine.
Would an lt1 cam be effective, are the heads any good meaning would a port and polish job see any real gains. I may rebuild it to take the place of my worn 305. Any 350 has to be better than that motor and I don't want to get into alot of $$.
Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks Scoty

If it is the original untouched engine it has 64cc swirl port heads(crappy 193 castings) and dished pistons that yield a 9.1 CR. It has a pitiful flat tappet cam. Most of these blocks are machined to run a factory hydraulic roller setup but not all. Chances are good you can run the LT1 hydraulic roller cam but i would pull the intake and make sure before gathering parts. The LT1 cam would be an improvement over the original but its a mild cam...depends on what you want to do.
