PLEASE HELP TRANNY TROUBLE!!
I have a 700r tranny and it started acting up a few days before it would not hardly shift from 2nd to 3rd without hammering it and then I would only shft from 2nd to 3rd if you did it manual and it got to the point to where it would not shift into 4th period and now all gears are gone except 1st and Reverse is the tranny gone or what?
Thanks

SOunds like it. I do not know the internals of the transmission, GMTech could proabbly tell ya exactly whats wrong. I had a performance rebuild done on mine. My oump (both halves), and my torque converter died. Thing would stall when it came to a stop. They replace the TC, and pump, put the vette servo in, "hemi packed" the clutches, put the overdrive valve in (so it'll shift into OD at wide open throttle). The thing rocks now, it was done for $1600
the only down side.
Good luck

I agree with Corry (and Blade!), the trans needs a rebuild.

Is it just me but BLADE did not say anything of any importance about the tranny other than a smart *** remark although I thought the tranny needed to be rebuilt but I am not expert on transmissions so I thought that I would ask some people who might no.

sounds like a main clutch failure.. usually the first thing to go on 700r4's (i hate theese trannys) symptoms of complete failure are when shifting out of first there is no drive range (feels like you stuck it in nuetral) 1st and R being your only gears.. its happened to me twice with two different trannys, and everytime the same thing, same diagnosis everywhere i go.. look at a low mileage junkyard tranny, youll cry at the cost of repairs...
