Car Stalls at stops
My 89 Firebird Formula 305TPI with a new rear in it is now stalling at stops. When I drive a lil and make a full stop the car will just stall out after a few seconds. I'm so mad right now, and I cant figure out why its doing this. I jsut had a new 3.42 Rear installed and drove it back 70plus miles. Than about 50 or more miles around town and it didn't do this at all. I thought maybe it was the MAF sensor doing it but its not. I unplugged it and it has a totally diffrent effect on the car, so it most likely isn't it. Fuel filter maybe a possibility, but not too likely. Fuel injectors maybe, I just got some more gas and fireball fuel inj. cleaner but didn't help too much. Could also be the Spark plugs maybe I hope because there easy to change. Fuel pump and sending unit is prolly the final resort it has to be that I guess if all the other stuff doesn't do it. PLease guys I need you help, I need this car 100% because I'm moving to florida in less than 3 weeks

Come on guys I'm sure this is prolly a common problem. I was talking to a guy at autozone today and he said it might be the spark plug wires going bad, exspicially today cause it was very humid and damp today. I'm going to check them out tommarrow morning. But other than that I need some help guys on what else you think it could be.
My guess is that you have a vacuum leak somewhere. When you come to a stop, your engine vacuum falls quite a bit, since your RPMs are dropping while your throttle position is at the same place. It may be dropping enough to kill the engine. Some other possibilities besides a vacuum leak are your TPS is bad/off or your IAC motor is bad. Put a vacuum gauge on and let us know your vacuum in drive at idle...put the e-brake on and shift it into drive. Your plug wires are not the problem. If they were bad, it would run like crap all the time. On a side note...please give us more than 4 hours before you say something about not getting a reply. Let us know what happens.

Got it fixed today cost $36, the idle speed sensor motor needed to be cleaned. He said when it starts up doing that again its going to need to be replaced. The part is $50 from any acdelco distributor.
