about the TPI engines
ok first, what CFM the stock TPI intake manifold had?
second, what horsepower did the stock 350 engine come with?
third, would the stock TPI intake manifold for a 5.0L TPI fit and work on a Chevy 350 H.O. engine without any mods.
i am planning on switching my 305 TPI for a 350 H.O. block and put the intake on there to keep the tork advantage.

There were different versions (MAF vs S/D etc.) with different flow capacities; the MAF ones were typically somewhere in the mid-high 400s CFM, the S/D ones about 500 CFM.
I assume you're asking about TPI 350s. Anywhere from about 230 to 250, depending on the details.
No. The 350 HO has Vortec heads. "Vortec" is GM-speak for "we moved the intake ports". They are raised quite a bit above where earlier heads located them. Many intake manifolds won't even completely cover the head ports, let alone match to them. Scoggin-Dickey is making a custom intake base with the ports in the right place. Using that base, and increasing the injectors to the right size for a 350, the rest of the 305 TPI will work, as it is identical in every other respect besides the injector flow to a 350 one.

damn thats gay. I guess i'm gonna have to find me another 350 block. I hate these 305 peices of sh*t. Just wanted something new ya know.
Well i know where i can get the whole 350 TPI block with everything except tranny(wiring harness, all belt accessories and PCM) for $750 with 85,000 miles on it or less. its some place down further south in florida. http://www.tacreationsusa.com . pretty good used **** there excelent prices also.

As RB explained, the block is the same, and the difference is in the heads. A different pair of heads would also cure the mismatch, but the flow numbers of the Vortec heads are pretty respectable, so keeping those could be a benefit.
What is it that you are trying to accomplish?

I'm trying to get rid of my wimpy 305cid and upgrading to a 350cid. But i want to keep the TPI intake manifold. I like how its got the low end tork rather than all out speed.

you can switch intakes and still have that low end that you like...and more!
the LT1 made its peak torque at 2,400...thye had more low end, but lost a little ground in the midrange, then picked it up again on top..
this is compared to an L98
tpi is cool defintely, but you can get the same torque..maybe give up a little in the mid range..not much....for that 50-60 hp gain on top...
youll still have the low end but itll pull a helluva lot harder on top...then youll wonder what you were thinking

well that place does have some LT1's pretty cheap. About $1450. Is that a good price for every accessory andt he pcm, just not including the tranny?

i was kinda goin towards www.lt1intake.com
go there and talk to john...hell hook you up..
that price for the lt1 and ecm seems prettty good..
youll already have the intake, and the LT1 heads are about the best flowing production sbc head..IIRC the LT4 heads and the LS1 heads are the only production heads that outflow them
