so the whole porting and polishing thing wasnt too bad...if i had a good compressor...more than 2 hp 8 gallon, ...and well, the RIGHT tools...it prolly woulda taken 10 hours tops, but seeing how every 30 seconds i had to let my compressor build back up, ...grind for 30 more seconds.....if i left it on itd over heat and cut off for 5 mins, or trip the surge protector every 5 mins...it was well....it sucked, ....but its done...ported, polished, ...i accidently got the tip of one valve guide a lil thinner than id like it...its about 1 MM thick at the vert tip ..i doubt itll cause a problem...the whole tip isnt 1 mm thick, ...its just like, the front side facing the exhaust port....you know what i mean...anyways.....im gonna finish touching up the polishing..... the 416 casting suck ***...they have alot of flaws in them you gotta grind out....lots of retarded bumps, put there for no reason, by gm, to **** YOU off. so lets see if i messed anything up, and if i can get the car back togather ....heh

yeah well, i still say it wont help the 416 castings much....but i did it just cause everyone said to and gave me guff about it, dso i figured id try it....i had the time,, the tools...kinda....was bored....havent bolted them onto the car yet....i still have some areas to touch up, maybe an hour of work tops....

random question that i should prolly know but i dont...are the intake and exhaust valve springs diff sizes?? exhaust appears to be smaller..i dunno it could just be me....

ill post some pics, ..its not very pretty, after all, i suck at arts and crafts...prolly wasnt the brightest idea for ME to do it, but oh well, if they are trashed....then i get another set for 100 bucks....no biggie....

i got the bowls as smooth as possible...kinda hard to get it not wavy, especially in the well rounded tight areas....too bad i dont have a spherical carbid tip....ill have to get one of those for the next time i do it......i really wish i would have had them flow tested for a good before and after idea of the hp gain ill see.....i dont expect much.

stock L03 heads Vrs ported and polished lb9 heads....we will see...wonder what else i gotta do to see 300 hp......with the mods on my sig and the new heads i should be close.

im running out of crap to do now though....any more ideas ? other than a 350....so yeah i guess tomarrow i put the car back togather...im not too excited, kinda worried...i fear doing something stupid and cracking a valve guide or blowing a head gasket. all i can say is, ill be happy to put my hands back on a wrench and the hell away from a grinder. i wish i wouldnt have taken the heads off a week ago, i have a small light glaze of rust starting to form on the surface where the head bolts to. wonder it thatll blow head gaskets, or better yet, how do i get the rust off. no rust formed in the cylinder...it had oil on it....anyways its been a long night, im turning in

sucks trying to work without the proper tools to support your effort. now you have a reason to buy bigger compressor. i don't like the coned bits, i use what you'd call egg shaped and a straight with rounded end, single cut. i don't think the double cut work half as well as single.

i had a single cut, double cut and what appeared to be a triple cut...--could be wrong about the last-- the double cut worked better for me...then again my single cut was old......oh and if i would have went out and bought a 5 hp compressor, 3 carbid bits, a die grinder, and whatever else various crap i needed , i might as well of had them ported and polished lol...compressors are expensive

80 grit flap wheels id nothing for me....any suggestions on what else to polish these up with
