Anybody ever here of building a long rod 350(6" rods)??
I am wondering how a long rod 350, nor a stroker, would perform. I know the extra rod length will give more leverage and therefore more torque, but what about longevity. I am building a daily driver. Anybody got any info on this?

They make an excellent street motor. Lots of torque and with the longer rod, you can run compression ratios upto about 11:1 on pump gas. Hot rod magazine did an article about 2 1/2 years ago where they used ford 6 cylinder rods. Find that article, it will answer all your questions.
Then send me a copy, because I can't find mine.

I too would like more info on this. I was talkin to a friend of my dads who is an engine builder and he said that he has no idea why chevy didnt make them with longer rods. He said that that a 350 with longer rods should make more hp per cubic inch than the ones that they made. He said that they would also be better on gas and emissions. I would love to build a long rod 350 if i could find a way to do it. I hope someone has some more info on this.
