i got edlebrock headers and y pipe on my l98 iroc. buying full length hookers for my 85. put a set of hooker shorty headers on my sons 355. i think for a street car i'd look at the hooker shorty headers. he had a custom exhaulst made.

I recommend SLP. I don't want to bash Edelbrock TES, but if you have seen them and SLP's side by side you will see why they are superior. Check the exhaust forum as well for recommendations. Here is a link to a 3rd Gen special they are running on them.

Transmission: That, too.
I've got the Edelbrocks on my car now, and a set of SLPs hangin' on the wall of the garage due to go in this winter. The edelbrocks are fine headers, no real complaints other than the orientation of the tubes makes it a bitch to reach some of the spark plugs on the passenger side. My biggest reason for moving to the SLPs is that I needed bigger flow numbers for the new heads/cam I am changing to, and the stainless steel composition of the SLPs. Don't read too much into that stainless steel thing, tho: stainless steel will still rust, it just takes a lot longer than with normal steel. Also, a rusty header typically works just fine for many years as it takes a long time to completely rust through. It's mostly a cosmetic problem for people.
