Your supposed to have oil pressure?

Ok. Ive driven this car for two years now. I have never had any problems that would lead me to believe there was no oil pressure. What's weird is, when i first get the car going, theres plenty of pressure but after about 15 minutes, goodbye. Is there a problem with the car reading it, or am i really stupid enough to drive without oil pressure??

Oh yeah, and if it is the pressure itself, how would you go about fixing that?

Check the oil pressure regulator switch. I had one go bad on my TBI 5.0, and the pressure would go up and down and then stay down at 0.

Get an ECM readout, it should tell you if the switch is bad (but 100% of the time).

yeah...just off the top of my head i dont think an engine would live for 2 years without any oil pressure.

Of course, it could lead to someone making the statement 'Man, this oil just NEVER gets dirty!"
