pcv valve question

ok guys my pcv or is it pvc i dunno lol. well i have it going into my passenger side valve cover, they are edelbrock sig. series if it makes a diff. well the pcv is running into the big vacum port on the front of my edelbrock carb and i get oil out of the valve or gromet around it. it seems to spray when i drive it and get my wires and valve cover dirty. now is this a bad valve or sumthing? when i put it in i was doing my motor swap so its got like 3000 miles on it. i didn;t know wut one to get so i went to pepboys and got one that fit in the gromet. can this be the problem?? thganks guys

You need baffles in the valve cover for the PCV (PCV= Positive Crankcase Ventilation, PVC= PolyVinylChloride) The baffels will keep the oil out of the PCV, I think Edl. sells baffels for their valvecovers.

That's the baffle. try running the hose to a manifold vacuum source and see if that helps.
