I was wondering if a 5 speed from a 4.3 s-10 would work in an f-body. what kind of 5 speed is it? think its a t-5?

No it will not. The trans mounts straight up in the truck but is rotated in the F car, so the shifter and trans mount will not work right. Additionally the shifter in the S truck comes out of the tail housing about 5" to the front of where it does in the F car.

It is however a T-5. So you could in theory swap over the parts (ext housing and inspection cover) from the F trans to the other and make it work, I think; that is, I believe the mainshaft is the same length. Basically they're exactly the sam, except totally different.

yes, however the bellhousing will not work, youll need to find a donor belllhousing from a fbody, as the tranny is mounted at a weird angle for ground clearance...
