Driveline Problems
Ok, my car blew its transmission mount, so i ordered another one and still drove the car, nothing real harsh ya know. So when i was under the car putting in the mount i put on my subframe connectors and lca's. now i have a whine from somewhere, and what feels like a vibration in the passenger side rear wheel, espically when i back up and turn counter clockwise. it knocks real bad. The whine really only kicks in around 50mph. Also when im coasting like downhill or just leave off the gas, and then tap it slightly it jerks really harsh. not a downshift either. just a jolt. car is a bone stock 305 with 3.23 gears, auto trans, and sticky tires. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tried searching boards but nothing matched with whats happenning with my car. Thanks

Did you remove the torque arm to replace the mount and/or LCAs? Did you mark the position or use a driveshaft angle gauge to set the correct driveshaft angle? Is the driveshaft bound into the tailshaft housing of the transmission?

Nope, i did not remove the torque arm. I replaced the lca's one at a time, and jacked the transmission off the mount the way that the haynes manuel said to do....I went back and retorqued everything i think everythings working smoother now (probably just worried that i did something wrong), but when i put the trans into gear it kinda jerks like theres play in the transmission or rearend, maybe a bad u joint? Or maybe just something im not used to? Visual check - no side to side motion in driveshaft, but it will make an 1/8 of a turn with no resistance...
