Parking brake

On my 86 T/A, the parking brake doesnt even work. I tested it and the car would just roll down the hill. Anyways, how do I go about adjusting the cable? I have rear drum brakes if that means anything. Thanks.

There is an adjuster where the two cables split off to go to the drums. Hold the nut on the cable end- towards the front of the car- and turn the nut at the rear. With both wheels off the ground and the car in nuetral pull the parking brake up two clicks, adjust the cable until you cant turn the right wheel counter-clockwise (reverse). Release the brake lever completely and make sure you can turn both wheels forward and reverse a few complete revolutions without any dragging. If it drags anywhere, back off the adjuster.
I did mine a few weeks ago but my pads are shot and its not holding too well.

Where is the adjuster located that you are referring to? Is it in the center console or under the car or what? Sorry, Im just new to this.

The adjuster is under the car. Get under and look toward the center before the rearend. You will see the cable come down to a Y. There will be two nuts on the bolt. You have to hold one side while you adjust the other. If that doesn't fix the e-brake problem then pull off your drums. Make sure the e-brake bracket is still on there tight. I checked mine once when my e-brake wasn't working and the e-brake bracket was rolling around in my drum
