Estimated hp with SLP+edelbrock?

Hi

What can I expect with the following mods. I was hoping about 30-40 hp gain..

Mods to come; Edelbrock headers+SLP roller cam:
Lift w/1.5:1 rockers:
in 0.470"
ex 0.490"
Duration 0.050":
in 206 deg
ex 214 deg
lobe 112

I know it's a mild cam, but the lift is higher and lobe is a bit different.

My original cam is the same as the 350tpi roller cam (not the peanutcam).

other mods are on my sig

You'll get a lot closer to your 30-40 HP goal if you use SLP headers also. The Edelbrock headers are very low quality and the y-pipe is horrible.

i'd have to agree with kevin. i'd also recomend a chip to go with it since i didn't see one on your list. but pretty much agree with kevin though.

I can mod my "chip" as I want since the Haltech is fully programmable ECM with a laptop.

SLPs headers are too costly, can't afford them. What's wrong with edelbrocks Y-pipe compared to SLPs?

SLP headers are on sale right now. Check their website for the thirdgen specials.

Edelbrock's y-pipe joins together at almost a right angle, causing a restriction in the exhaust flow. SLP has more of a true Y, with the pipes coming together parallel to each other, then merging. Trust me, thats worth at least 10+ HP at the rear wheels. As an extreme example, a friend of my dad has a carb'd truck he put Edelbrock's headers and y-pipe on, along with a 3" cat-back. It dynoed at 160 HP at the rear wheels. He took it to my dad, who did a custom y-pipe and cleaned up the bends in the exhaust, and it dynoed again at 210 HP. See what I mean?

Go with the SLP headers and exhuast and cam and you will get over 40 hp.
