V6 Alternator = V8 Alternator?
I started up my IROC today only to find that my engine is making a constant whine that changes with engine speed. I listened around with a pipe and think that the sound is comming from the alternator. Also, I found that the alternator was too hot to touch (even for a second) after only a couple of minutes of running time--and I don't think they're supposed to get that hot that quickly.
Anyway, I don't really have money for a new alternator right now, but I'm not driving my '88 Camaro (with the 2.8L V6).
Could I take the alternator from my '88 Camaro and put it into my IROC (L98)?
Thanks

yes you can, but you'll have to swap casings, because I believe your 2.8 alternator mounts in a different location. Once you swap the casings, you should be good to go, that will hold you over for a while.
